I installed Suse 8.1 on this machine without any major problems.
The most annoying thing was that the Suse bootloader didnt install itself correctly and had to be
installed manually. (Others have had the same problem)
Other than that everything i have tried have worked straight out of the box.
The modem is a winmodem, but it should work with the drivers from http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/hsf/
This is really a good machine, but the cost of the machine (12990 SKR=~1400 EURO/US$) makes it a bargain.
(atleast here in Sweden at the time of writing)
DEBIAN:
Debian 3.0 didnt work too well out of the box, i had to manually install both network and sound.
Sure, it only takes a few minutes, but it still a bit annoying ;)
MANDRAKE:
Mandrake 9.0 installed without any problems. Painless and quick ;)
But, well, i will end up with Slackware on this machine too, the other distros just have too much crap in
them that doesnt work anyways.
